PinkDome - October 04, 2005 - Rep. Hunter is Leaving: "Forgot to do this one on Sunday, but Rep. Bob Hunter from Abilene is leaving the House to settle down back home.
Hunter, known to many as 'Smilin' Bob' for his genial manner, announced on Sunday the 79th Legislature would be his last to represent House District 71. He was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and intends to focus on fighting the disease. Hunter will also assist in the centennial celebration of his beloved Abilene Christian University.
QR has a running list of wannabe's for Hunter's seat. He's one rural R that will be missed. We wish you the best Rep. Hunter."
