KRISTV.COM - Corpus Christi, TX - Many Southeast Texas schools remain closed: "More than 40 Southeast Texas school districts remain closed because of power outages and damage from Hurricane Rita, and many don't know when they will open.
As many as 100,000 students are affected, Texas Education Agency spokeswoman Debbie Graves Ratcliffe said.
'Most of Southeast Texas is still shut,' she said.
Many of the schools are in Jefferson, Tyler, Jasper, Newton, Hardin and Orange counties."
