Hutchison talks, but stays quiet about her plans
HoustonChronicle.com - Hutchison talks, but stays quiet about her plans: "U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison did not mean to be understood Tuesday.
Understand?
She resorted to references to the Federal Reserve in her effort to keep mum on whether she will run for Texas governor in next year's Republican primary.
Asked about her intentions, she said in the halls of the Senate, 'Obviously, I am not going to answer a question that would lead to a conclusion. I'll be the (Federal Reserve chairman) Alan Greenspan of today's (press conference).
'I will talk a lot, but if you think you've understood anything I've said, you're misunderstanding.'
People do understand actions such as her specific comment Monday that Gov. Rick Perry, who is seeking re-election, should call the Legislature into special session to settle the school finance dispute.
Hutchison is expected to announce her campaign decision early next month."
