Craddick disputes funding statement
Caller.com: Local News: "Texas House Speaker Tom Craddick in a statement Tuesday disputed comments made by Rep. Juan M. Escobar in Monday's Caller-Times about funding for Texas A&M University-Kingsville's College of Pharmacy.
In the article, the Kingsville Democrat said $13 million was taken from the college for an obstetrical project in Midland.
Alexis DeLee, the speaker's spokeswoman, said funding isn't moved around that way.
'Money that is earmarked for one thing isn't moved to another,' DeLee said. 'It doesn't work that way.' Craddick said in the statement there was 'never any direct appropriations in the budget for the Kingsville school.'"
