GOP clashes in Texas Legislature become more prevalent
MyWestTexas.com - Local News - 05/07/2005 - GOP clashes in Texas Legislature become more prevalent: "This time two years ago, House Democrats plotted their escape to Oklahoma in a legislative boycott of a redistricting plan, their final punch in a season of partisan fighting.
The conflicts remain.
Only now, with Democrats settling into their role as the minority party, the Republicans are rumbling among themselves.
They've pounded one another over local tax caps. They've disagreed over whether to ban gays from becoming foster parents. On the biggest issue this session, public school funding, top Republicans are at odds over a tax bill."
The same thing is happening in Texas as we are starting to see inside the beltway, and in other states. When thing don't go well for the GOP they start to eat their own.
