Fort Bliss could gain 11,501 new employees under plan

MySA.com: AP Wire: "Military transfers could bring 11,501 soldiers and civilian employees to Fort Bliss, the second largest gain for any installation under a plan proposed by the Pentagon.

Only Fort Belvoir, Va., could get more employees, with 11,858 additional military and civilian staffers.

Under recommendations announced Friday, more than 16,000 military and civilian personnel currently stationed elsewhere would move to Fort Bliss. However, Fort Bliss would lose about 4,600 of its current employees as part of the plan."
