Lawmakers instructed members of a conference committee – the representatives who will try to negotiate a compromise on tax legislation with the Senate – to block legalization of a type of electronic bingo that resembles slot machines.
Senators permitted the type of bingo in their version of the tax bill, which would cut property taxes and raise sales and business taxes to compensate."
