In GOP politics, the gloves come off

In GOP politics, the gloves come off: "One thing is for sure: This will not be a high-toned primary race. Perry and Strayhorn both fight with knuckles bared. Whatever Perry's shortcomings as a chief executive, it won't alter the fact that he will have plenty of money to spend and has proven to be an effective campaigner -- he has won every race he's ever been in (state representative, agriculture commissioner, lieutenant governor and governor). Strayhorn, former mayor of Austin and former Austin school board member, has lost only one race, a challenge to longtime U.S. Rep. Jake Pickle of Austin, who died Saturday."
