Dumas legislator won't seek ag job
DentonRC.com | News for Denton, Texas | Texas/Southwest: "Rep. David Swinford, R-Dumas, announced Wednesday that he will not seek the post of agriculture commissioner, expected to be vacated in 2007 by Susan Combs.
Mr. Swinford, who has a degree in agricultural education from Texas Tech University, had been exploring the race for several months. But he said he decided that representing rural counties in the Legislature is where his heart is and that he will run for a ninth term from his Panhandle district instead."
