Star-Telegram | 05/25/2005 | Following the money: "Anticipating final debate later this week on a package of school finance/education reform bills, some Republican House members are circulating a report on the increase in school district fund balances -- in effect, the savings accounts held by local districts.

This apparently is to counter previous assertions that the pending bills do not allocate enough money to meet the pressing needs of Texas public education."
