The Red State: Wesley Clark kicks off Juan Garcia's campaign
Gen. Wesley Clark, former presidential candidate and NATO's Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, will be in Corpus Christi, TX on January 26, 2006 to announce his support for Juan Garcia's race (campaign website) for Texas House District 32.
A nice coup for Garcia. Can anyone tell me if this race is competitive? I bet it's a little more so now.

Not only is it competitive district but it is winnable. It is a swing district with lots of military and retired military. The last contested race (2002) had the Dem lose 53%-47%. Seaman underperformed in that race by four points. This time around we have a rock star in Garcia and the Libertarians have fielded a candidate, which sucks up the Republican vote (average 3.3% in 2002). It is tough race but Juan Garcia can pull it off with everyone helping him.
