Craddick avoids indictment

The Bryan-College Station Eagle > Texas & Region: "Texas House Speaker Tom Craddick avoided an indictment in the latest Travis County grand jury session, even though his path to power was paved by activities that led to Wednesday's conspiracy charge against House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

District Attorney Ronnie Earle said the investigation continues and a new grand jury would be named in early October. Earle refused to talk specifically about Craddick.

Craddick had been subpoenaed in the investigation and questioned about acting as middleman in delivering a $100,000 check from a nursing home group to DeLay's Texans for Republican Majority political action committe"

Kudos & double kudos to Ronnie Earle. Could he possibly nail "The Hammer" & Craddick both? Maybe there is a God after all.
