THE fig leaves are aflame. The flimsy fiscal arguments that fence-straddling politicians, including Texas' two supposedly free-enterprise Republican senators, have used to hide their indecent support of the muscle-bound Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport are burned to a crisp.
The leaves had never really covered the pols' naked favoritism of one airport (D-FW) and, as the situation developed, one airline (American) at the expense of another airport (Love Field) and another airline (Southwest) — as well as air travelers' pocketbooks and the state's economy."
