HoustonChronicle.com - Perry hopeful school finance deal will surface: "Gov. Rick Perry is optimistic about reaching an agreement on school finance after meeting separately this week with Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and House Speaker Tom Craddick.
'It's very fair to say he feels better today than he has since the end of the session,' Perry spokeswoman Kathy Walt said Wednesday.
Perry met Wednesday with Craddick and Tuesday with Dewhurst. The governor has said he would call lawmakers into special session if legislative leaders can work out differences on a plan to pay for school property tax cuts."
