Forced hurricane evacuations in bill

The bill, sponsored by Rep. Frank Corte Jr., R-San Antonio, grew out of Mr. Perry's call last year for an assessment of whether Texas was prepared for a major hurricane.

The state Office of Homeland Security then recommended 18 measures, including mandatory evacuations."
