Water bills sit in committee at state legislature
The Uvalde Leader-News: "With just more than two weeks left in the 79th regular session of the Texas Legislature, two water bills that could affect Uvalde County residents remain in limbo.
Of major concern is Senate Bill 3, a comprehensive piece of water legislation that has stirred much debate in Austin and across the state.
The bill, filed in the Texas Senate by Sen. Kenneth Armbrister, D-Victoria, contains a section dealing with the Edwards Aquifer Authority as well as a section calling for the creation of 'flow councils' across the state to protect the amount of water feeding the state's bays and estuaries."
