Senate would give Perry $100 million for new fund
KLTV 7 Tyler-Longview-Jacksonville, TX: Senate would give Perry $100 million for new fund: "Governor Rick Perry could get up to 100 (m) million dollars over the next two years for his proposed technology fund.
The Senate approved the move under a spending bill late Wednesday.
Perry has asked lawmakers for 300 (m) million dollars for the fund. It's meant to spur collaboration between businesses and universities.
Extra money the state collects in its so-called 'Rainy Day' fund would pay for the technology fund."
