Name revealed in funds inquiry
Star-Telegram | 05/13/2005 | Name revealed in funds inquiry: "An impasse between the Texas Ethics Commission and the Travis County district attorney's office was lifted Thursday when a mystery person allowed his or her name to be disclosed in a political campaign corruption probe.
In an unusual stalemate between powerful agencies, the commission had denied efforts by District Attorney Ronnie Earle to learn the name of a person who sought a commission opinion on how corporate money can be used in elections.
On Thursday, behind closed doors in the chambers of state District Judge Bob Perkins, the matter was resolved when the person gave permission to be identified, but only to the district attorney's office for 'use in this investigation.'"
