Local school officials are kept waiting

The Herald Democrat: "As the leaders of the Texas House and Senate spar behind closed doors over the details of legislation to change public school funding and some state requirements of schools, local superintendents wait.

In conversations Wednesday, superintendents from Grayson County districts large and small said they are waiting to draft their districts' budgets. They're waiting to see if both houses of the State Legislature will pass a bill by Monday's closing session. And they're waiting to see if state courts will judge actions the Legislature takes as being adequate and equitable."

From what I've seen, if they are waiting for the GOP one party leadership here in Texas to do a dang thing, they will be waiting in vain. I have never seen such a gross lack of leadership. A party that is incapable of enacting legislation has absolutely no right to complain when the judiciary imposes legislation upon them. Perry is the weakest Guv I've ever known in Texas, just as Bush is the weakest Prez I've ever known. Neither stand for anything--they just fall for anything their money men tell them. I'm ashamed. Vote.
