Dallas rejects charter overhaul; mayoral runoff in S.A.

HoustonChronicle.com - Dallas rejects charter overhaul; mayoral runoff in S.A.: "The race for San Antonio mayor appeared headed for a runoff tonight, while Dallas voters awaited the outcome of an initiative to give the mayor much more governing power.

Thirty-year-old councilman Julian Castro remained the front-runner to become mayor of San Antonio. With 17 percent of precincts counted, Castro had 26,124 votes, or about 40 percent, despite making national headlines when he had his twin brother, a state lawmaker, take his place in a parade float."
