Senate passes telecom proposal
Senate passes telecom proposal: "Despite opposition from Texas cities and cable providers, state senators approved a major legislative proposal Wednesday that will let phone companies set their own residential rates and make it easier for them to get into the television business.
'This is going to be very good for the state of Texas,' Sen. Troy Fraser, R-Horseshoe Bay, sponsor of Senate Bill 21, said after it passed 25-3. The proposal will spur 'more choices and lower prices' for consumers, he said."
