A CAPITOL BLOG: JUDICIAL PAY RAISE MADE PART OF SESSION "CALL": "Okay here is the issue that went down in flames at the end of the regular session -- judicial pay.

Without a doubt judges are paid below that of the private market. Highly qualified judges are difficult to attract and maintain. Therefore I do privately support the effort. However, because I may personally benefit from this vote, should I receive a pension, I will abstain on the vote. If this vote is done by voice vote, I will enter my 'present not voting' in the record.
