HoustonChronicle.com - Speculators eye Cornyn for Supreme Court post: "Sen. John Cornyn of Texas is flattered to be mentioned as a possible candidate for the U.S. Supreme Court and would consider the job if it were offered. But the freshman lawmaker is hardly seeking a new engagement.
'He is very happy being a senator,' spokesman Don Stewart said. 'You can never rule out something like that, but it is not something he is looking for or something he has asked for.'
Stewart said Cornyn, a former Texas Supreme Court justice and state attorney general, likely will run again for the Senate when his term is up in 2008."
