Common Sense: Senate to scrap statewide property tax proposal

Common Sense: Senate to scrap statewide property tax proposal: "In an effort to find the votes to bring a bill to the floor, senators have scrapped the proposals for a statewide property tax to replace the property taxes levied by local school districts and a dedicated business tax.

They are also working on finding a way to cut taxes for a broader range of Texans. As written this morning, only those making more than $140,900 got a tax break; everyone below that saw a tax increase.

The question now becomes, where is the money for schools going to come from?"

Now the GOP can't find it in their hearts to include what few taxes were in their huge tax increase bill that might hurt the rich. Common Sense asks where will the money come from? They will pass on even huger tax increase on the poor and middle classes.
