Barbara Ann Radnofsky--Texas Senator 2006: Believing in a World of Political Atheism

Barbara Ann Radnofsky--Texas Senator 2006: Believing in a World of Political Atheism: "It's hard to believe in anything today that relates to politics. Partisan attacks, big-dollar donors, well-oiled machines, or just hopeless ideologues all make the landscape too unfriendly to anyone who wants to really believe in a candidate.

In fact, politicians come in three flavors:
1. Those who want the office for the power, connections, and money
2. Those who want the office for ideology
3. Those who want the office because they want to move the needle"

I love a candidate like Randofsky, or Kinky, who comes out of the corner at the first bell, breathing fire and looking for a true K.O., instead of playing rope-a-dope, and hoping for a T.K.O or winning by the judges. Some may call it tilting at windmills. I'd remind them of H. Ross Perot, Arnold, and Jesse Ventura. Even Hunter S. Thompson. Sometimes shaking up the status quo is as important as winning. And sometimes shaking things up means winning.
